Noel Aikens and Josh Mayhew were on the mark in Felixstowe & Walton's United 2-2 draw at Brentwood Town, with 20-year-old keeper Josh Blunkell kept busy on his Seasiders' debut.

Blunkell joined the Seasiders from Kettering Town after his loan spell at Braintree Town concluded at the end of 2023.

The 20-year-old came through the AFC Sudbury system, and was signed by Wycombe Wanderers in July 2022, but did not feature in the first team. He also has playing experience at this level after being on loan to Bowers and Pitsea last season.

Seasiders went ahead though Aitkens early in the first half but goals from Brentwood's Wyan Reid and Mekhi McKenzie after the break gave the hosts the advantage for a few minutes.

Josh Mayhew equalised and Sam Ford went agonisingly close to finding a winner late on.

The draw keeps Stuart Boadley's side clinging on to second spot in the Isthmian North Division, five points behind Lowestoft, who they take on at the AGL Arena on Saturday (13 January),
