Felixstowe & Walton United started the new year where they left off with a 2-1 home win over struggling Stowmarket.

The Seasides never really got into their rhythm and top tempo but still had too much for rival Stowmarket that are going through a transitional period and got hit for six by Lowestoft two days earlier.

Although Stuart Boardley's side dropped points at play off rivals Bowers and Pitsea, they are a different animal at home and soon went ahead through Billy Holland.

Stowmarket got a toehold in the game with Elliott Barnard equalising on the hour.

Seasiders secured the three points in front of a 561 crowd at the AGL when Joe Whight hit the winner 15 minis from time.

Stowmarket's day got worse when the referee flourished a red card as the teams went off with Seth O'Neil named as the recipient.

Felixstowe remain second, three points behind leaders Lowestoft who they meet at the AGL Arena on Saturday, January 13.
