Straight-talking Stuart Boardley admitted the Seasiders were just not good enough as they suffered a revenge attack by rivals Lowestoft.

Goals from Kyle Haylock and Sammy Johnson saw Lowestoft regain top spot from Felixstowe in the Isthmian Division North and reversing the result at the AGL Arena earlier in the season.

Both goals came from defensive mistake, the first from a long ball by the keeper catching out the Felixstowe defence and Haylock finishing.

The second from a rare error by keeper Josh Blunkell who missed the ball after racing out of his area gifting Johnson the easiest of chances.

"We were second best today, all over. Boardley told the club website. "They started very well, lively, and unfortunately our defending was poor, that's got them 1-0."

He added: "It's a hard one to take as we are so disappointed with the performance. We have missed chances when we did have them, but equally they should have gone ahead further before their second goal. Both goals have come off our mistakes and we weren't at it at all, which is a shame, and if you don't turn up in games like these then you'll get beaten."

Seasiders will brush themselves down ahead of there Suffolk Premier Cup semi-final against Leiston at Ipswich Wanderers' Humber Doucy Lane ground on Tuesday evening.

They then face another big league match next Saturday against Bury Town on Saturday at Ram Meadow.
