Felixstowe boss Stuart Boardley admits he was almost lost for words after his side pulled off a stunning 5-3 win over early promotion rivals Brightlingsea Regent to go top of the isthmian League North Division.

A hat-trick from Josh Mayhew and one each from Leon Ottley-Gooch and Sam Ford secured a late victory in a pulsating come from behind victory at the AGL Arena.

Boardley did have enough breath left to sum up his feeling for Felixstowe website after the game and said: "I'm delighted with the players' attitude and mentality, not so much some of the defending. That said we are scoring goals and putting on entertainment for the fans.

"We gave away goals at crucial times again but I can't be too critical because the lads showed such fight and determination to turn that around. It was incredible."

Felixstowe even had the luxury of missing from the penalty spot through Joe Wight, with Mayhew stepping up in the second half making it five goal in his past two games.

"Sam Ford is also on a hot street and up front we are blessed with goals corers."

Regent responded with goals from Eljay Worrell, Manny Ogunrinde and Olls Embalo to play their part in a terrific game in front of a 402 crowd..
