Stuart Boardley admitted be after his Felixstowe sed threw away a 3-1 lead to lose by the odd goal in seven in the FA IsuzuTropy at Billericay.

"It was a real tough one to take," admitted Boardley. "The lads could not have given me anymore, they are out on their feet.

"I really thought we were going to nick it.

"The story of our season is we have been conceding too many goals.

"That said, I can't criticise them too much because Billericay are a very good side, very fit, well drilled and have a range of attacking threats.

"Any game you are 3-1 up with 25 minutes left you expect to win. It is a real sickener."

Goals from Josh Mayhew and Sam Ford in a four minute spell gave the Seasiders half time lead following Matt Dench's opener for the hosts.

Mayhew made it look even more comfortable for Felixstowe seven minutes after the break when he knocked in the rebound after Zak Brown hit the crossbar to make it 3-1.

But they were then battered by tricky Billericay who went level through substitute Frankie Merrifield and a Bradley Stevenson penalty, .

Moses Emmanuel snatched the lead on the 90th minute and stunned Seasiders were out of the Trophy in front of a 557 crowd.

Felixstowe are back at the AGL Arena on Tuesday when they take on recently promoted Brightlingsea in the Isthmian League
