Stuart Boardley rued draft of missed chances as Felixstowe were held to a 1-1 draw at home by East Thurrock last night.

Charlie Warren put the Seasiders ahead nine minutes after the break but despite bombarding the visitor's box could not find that crucial second.

Callum Robinson made a fine save from Ayo Odukoya midway through the second half and missed opportunities cost Felixstowe when Jesse Olukolu hit a deflected equalised in the 89th minute.

A crowd of 308 watched the re-arranged fixture at the AGL Stadium. Boardley's side go to Witham on Wednesday evening, in another re-arranged game, before the big one at home to Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.

Despite the dropped pints, Boardley is confident a top five finish is achievable and told the club website: "We knew we needed a result on Saturday against Heybridge and that has not altered.

"We have got to win Wednesday and win Saturday and we will achieve what we wanted to achieve."

The usually clinical felixstowe were unable to make this dominance count.

Boardley added: "We had so many chances, we had four or five free headers and t was disappointing we did not put them away and East Thurrock were alway dangerous on the counter."

Seasiders could have been in bigger trouble but for Robinson.

"It was fantastic from Callum to save the penalty," said Boardley. "But it was disappointing we were not three or four up leading up to that.

"We need to take sure we are more clinical on Wednesday."

Seasiders will have Joe Wight back in time for the trip to Witham and also Ollie Canfer for the regular season finale on Saturday.

Boardley added: "We came through okay and will have strong team at Witham on Wednesday and again on Saturday."

"We go into both games strong and confident we can get the three points."
