Nails were bitten down to the quick as Stuart Boardley's Felixstowe & Walton United were involved in an astonishing 30 shot penalty shoot out at Hashtag United, in an Emirates FA Cup preliminary qualifying round.

Sadly for the Seasiders they lost out 13-12 to the south Essex side, with both sides taking 15 penalties, after the two teams had battled out to a 1-1 draw in the normal 90 minutes.

New rules meant there was no extra time so it was straights to penalties but while Callum Robinson twice denied the home side, Ollie Canfer, Jordan Matthews and Kyle Jopling all had their efforts saved.

Substitute Henry Barley had equalised in the second half for Felixstowe after George Smith had put Hashtag ahead with a first half penalty and the team comprising mainly of some well known You Tubers with meet Soham Town in the First qualifying round.

Although a staggering amount of spot kicks were taken, the two sides were two short of the FA Cup record, which was played out between Scunthorpe United and non-league Worcester City last November. The Irons finally won 14-13 on spot kicks after 32 penalties were taken.

This fell well short of the world record, which was set at the Greek Cup final in 2009, as Olympiacos beat AEK Athens 15-14 after a staggering 48 penalties.
