Former Tottenham Hotspur academy attacker Tyger Smalls made an immediate impact for his new club with a cracking goal in Felixstowe & Walton United 2-1 win over Lowestoft.

The 17-year-old, who had a trial with FA Cup winners Arsenal in March, joined the injury hit Seasiders after spells Haverhill Rovers and Saffron Walden Town last season.

Tyger, equalised for Felixstowe with an exquisite 23-yard free kick after the Trawlermen had taken the lead through Kieran Higgs, with Ollie Canfer hitting the Seasiders' winner.

Tyger, who is the older brother of Whitton United starlet Mydas, who netted in their FA Cup win over at aged just 16, was one of two signings by Stuart Boardley who has brought Rhys Henry back to the club and he had a spell at Leiston.

Seasiders boss Boardley believes the club is over the worst of their injury problems but will probably still be three short for the start of the season with Noel Aitkins, George Barker and Curtis Haynes-Brown unlikely to features against Hashtag United away next Sunday.
