Seasiders boss Stuart Boardley could not hide his frustration after his Felixstowe side were held to a goalless draw by Heybridge Swifts.

Although the draw extends Felixstowe's unbeaten run in 2024 to 11 games, Boardley was disappointed his usually deadly team could not find a winner in front of 455 supporters at the AGL Arena.

"It was a very frustrating game for us," February Manager of the Month Boardley told the club website.

""Heybridge came here and got 11 men behind the ball and frustrated us. We just didn't seem to have the quality to break them down and get any clear cut chances.

"We resorted to going a bit long in the second half and that didn't suit us. We played into their hands by doing that as they had two big centre halves and big centre forward who got back and defended manually in the box.

"It's tough one because we just didn't get the ball down and play."

Felixstowe stay second, two points behind league leaders Lowest and entertain Brentwood Town next Saturday (March 16)

Before that though they have a huge Suffolk Premier Cup semi-final clash against Leiston at Ipswich Wanderers' ground on Tuesday night, with a final against Needham Market at Portman Road beckoning for the winners.

Boardley said: "It is a game we have been looking forward to. Doing well in the cup was something we said we wanted to do at the start of the season and that is still important to us.

"We will be putting out a strong side, although perhaps a little different to what we did today."
