Stern words, tactical tweaks and players taking it all on board led to a better second half, which in turn took the Seasiders top of the table.

Felixstowe boss Stuart Boardley revealed the half-time message, which saw Noel Aitkens, Zak Brown and Josh Hitter all score as they beat Grays Athletic 3-0 away in the Isthmian League North.

Speaking to the club website after the victory Boardley said: "We were not good enough first half. We challenged the boys at half-time to raise they game by 15/20 per cent because apart from the tow centre half I let we were a bit off

"Second half we were outstanding, to a man we dominated the second half and we deserved the victory.

"We were not at the races first half and we needed to raise our levels. They took everything on board. We needed to be better everywhere, from defending from the front

"Tweaks positionally helped us too and we were able to get on the ball in good areas and hurt them.."
