Felixstowe boss Stuart Boardley admitted he was 'overjoyed' as his side bounced back from two losses with a 4-0 home win over Gorleston, and the clean sheet kept by late stand in keeper Danny Crump.
Sam Ford, substitute Josh Hitter, Charlie Warren and Callum Harrison were all on target in front of 223 spectators at a foggy AGL Arena, as the Seasiders consolidated they second place spot in the Isthmian League North.
"They (the players) did exactly what was asked of them after two losses," Boardley told the club website. "It has been a tough week with those two losses which you would not expect a side sitting in second place to have.
"It was important to get back to winning ways and we did that really well. The reaction was great."
Gorleston open football suited Felixstowe but they were left feeling frustrated at the break when the only goal came from a superb Harrison through ball for Ford to expertly finish.
"I'm overjoyed with the result against a very good Gorelston side with a lot of good players. It could have been a banana skin but from minute one our play was positive and we created many chances.
"Only being one up was not where we wanted to be but second half the goals came."
Just as pleasing for Boardley was the clean sheet, and the boss praised his defence and Danny Crump for stepping in when a replacement for usual keeper Callum Robinson could not be brought in ahead of the game.
Robinson has stepped away from football due to personal reasons, a decision accepted by Felixstowe's board and management team.
Felixstowe have subsequently signed 18-year-old Ipswich keeper Charlie Binns on loan for the rest of the season.
Boardley said: "Jack (Ainsley) and Joe (Wight) marshalled the defence very well and when Josh Hitter came on he made a difference in midfield.
"A clean sheet has been a while coming and I'm really pleased.
"We are thankful for Danny Crump for stepping in at the 11th hour as we could not get that signing over the line in time. For Danny to keep a clean sheet and win Man of the Match was superhero and I'm overjoyed for him."
"The win has got us back to where we need to be a good confidence booster."
Felixstowe, who have now netted 66 goals in 22 games, got to new Salamis on Saturday, before taking on Mason and Tiptree the following week at the AGL Arena.
