Felixstowe peninsula motorists faced huge delays today after a lorry and car collided on the Orwell Bridge, with a closure likely to go into tomorrow (Wednesday, May 10)

Police have confirmed a lorry travelling on the westbound carriageway from the Felixstowe direction smashed through the central reservation and on to oncoming traffic and collided with a car, at around 11.20 this morning.

Both lanes of the eastbound carriageway and one lane of the westbound carriageway will remain closed to allow structural checks and repairs.

Police said there were not thought to be any serious injuries.
