Lancaster bomber fly past marks start of Felixstowe's Jubilee weekend
The Mayor of Felixstowe will officially announce the start of Felixstowe's Platinum Jubilee Weekend celebrations with the Proclamation tomorrow (June 2) at 1pm.
At approx. 12.25pm, a Lancaster will fly over Felixstowe, the first of four planes being flown over the town by the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight across the four-day weekend.
The Leiston Royal British Legion Band will lead a Parade of standard-bearers, local cadets, Scouts and Guides on a march from outside Boots, through the shared space, past Argos, down Bent Hill and then along to the Town Hall.
At 1pm the Mayor will read the Proclamation from the Town Hall steps. Reverend Andrew Dotchin will then give a blessing and the band will play the first verse of the National Anthem before the parade is dismissed.
All are very welcome to join us at the Town Hall to receive the Parade and Proclamation.
