Felixstowe Nub News delves into the Queen's visit to Felixstowe in 1977 through pictures and archival footage.

This weekend will be packed with Jubilee festivities and street parties all across Felixstowe and the nation.

The year of the Queen's last Jubilee, 1977, included the arrival of Her Majesty herself on July 11 1977.

From Tavern Street in Ipswich town centre, she made toured her way through the area until she ended in Felixstowe to board the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Many small boats were gathered to escort the Royal Yacht and to catch a glimpse of the Queen and accompanying Prince Philip.

The Queen was welcomed by the President and chairman of the Felixstowe Dock Company as she arrived at the docks.

With crowds cheering and spectating, the Queen and Prince Philip embarked the Royal Yacht before the band of the Royal Marines entertained the royalty and the guests at a reception.
