Children from Felixstowe were among dozens of kids from the county a fun day organised by The Salvation Army.

More than 30 children aged between seven and 12 joined the church and charity's "Great Picnic" on July 17 and took part in activities, including sports, crafts, minute-to-win-it games and singing. They also enjoyed a picnic on a beautiful summer's day.

Mags Stokes, a children's worker who organised the day on behalf of Anglia Divisional Headquarters, said it was a great success.

She said: "For a lot of these youngsters, it would have been the first time out of their bubbles. Children and young people have been fundamentally affected by this pandemic, so events like this are essential to help them get back on track.

"It was lovely to see the children gelling together nicely in their teams and being happy to support each other. Thank you to everyone who worked together to make the day such a success."
