Emergency services successfully dealt with a suspected explosive devise over the weekend.

HM Coastguard responded to a 999 call from a member of the public reporting military artillery by Landguard Fort in Felixstowe at 1.30pm last Sunday.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, Suffolk Police, and the Felixstowe Coastguard Rescue Team, were sent to the suspected grenade below the high-water mark.

A spokesperson for the Coastguard said the team provided safe cover whilst the EOD conducted a controlled detonation last Sunday.
