Felixstowe pubs' safe and sensible reopening

Poor weather may have left the Super Saturday return to pubs as something of a damp squib but a slow, sensible and safe reopening was ideal in many ways.

Staff and customers at our popular Felixstowe pubs were able to ease their way back to enjoying a favourite tipple by getting used to new systems.

Families and friends enjoyed their own bubbles and it was clear everyone was abiding my the various protocols each pub used.

All the pubs Nub News visited took track and trace details, sanitiser was available inside and out and tables spaced apart.

Louise Juggins, owner of the Cork, epitomised the safety measures pubs were taking as she sat in the lobby taking people's detail's as required and has made other changes, including closing at 8pm for the foreseeable future.

"Everyone has been really good, giving details and everything, which I was bit concerned about," said Louise. "It is all a bit of an unknown for all of us, so it is a bit trial and error.

"Financially we needed to reopen, even if that means reduced hours.

"We will be open during the week but we are not sure about the opening times, yet, it depends a bit on the weather and how everything goes."

While some pubs were open on Saturday, others will be coming back in their own time for their own reasons. Find updated details of If, When and How your local is open, here...
