The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership will hold its next free Guided Walk Saturday 11 March at 10.35am – Trimley station circular via Trimley Marshes – 7 miles – 3 to 4 hours.

This walk features some of the finest estuarine scenery in England including the bird-rich tidal reaches of the Orwell. The route meanders along lagoons, reed beds, and grazing meadows of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Trimley Marshes Reserve, best viewed from public hides along the route. From high ground at Sleighton Hill there are panoramic views over the Orwell estuary. The quiet waters towards Levington and Pin Mill contrast with maritime activity of Harwich Harbour, including the constant flow of huge ships serving Britain's largest container port at Felixstowe.

Please bring a packed lunch as there are no places for refreshment on the walk.

8:06 train from Lowestoft – 9.58 from Ipswich – 10.28 from Felixstowe

If coming from the Lowestoft, Manningtree, Stowmarket, Norwich directions, change trains at Ipswich and catch the 9.58 Felixstowe service.

No need to book – Just show up – Dogs welcome!
