The long anticipated wait for the Felixstowe wheel to start turning was well worth it as Felixstowe Nub News found out on the first day of the resort's latest and biggest attraction.

The sun shone, the View, as it is aptly called, had a non-stop line of keen visitors, of all ages.

Young and old enjoyed the serene 360 degree journey taking in views across to Harwich, and Shotley (if you squint) the wind farm in the North Sea and elegant herd of giraffes that pass as dock cranes at the Uk's largest container port.

Miles of Felixstowe seafront, taking in the new and very popular activities park, the historic pier, Manning Amusements and the popular Beach Street can be taken in from on high.

Even in these straitened times the £6 for adults, £5 for children and family tickets from £20 are a reasonable investment from your holiday spend., especially on a clear day where you can see for mile see for miles.

The View is open each day from 10am, and will be operating until October, but it is expected to return next spring/summer.
