Royal Hospital School (RHS) in Holbrook put on a triumphantly joyous production of 'Me and My Girl' last week, a great showcase and celebration of the dramatic and musical talent at the school.
The performance had a four-night sell-out run, ending with a gala performance on the Saturday, proceeded by a gala fundraising dinner, with the proceeds going towards the Centennial Bursary Campaign - a fundraising initiative to support 100 students with bursaries at the school by its centenary in 2033.

Production director, Ed Damon said: 'Seamus Maloney as cockney geezer Bill Snibson, who suddenly finds himself to be no less than the 14th Earl of Hareford, held the audience in the palm of his hand as he entertained four full houses with his efforts to win his Lambeth sweetheart, Sally, winsomely played by Daisy Clabburn. Providing excellent comic relief was the scheming gold-digger Lady Jacquie and her bumbling but good-hearted beau, Gerald Bolingbroke."
"The production team turned the Assembly Hall successfully into a 'real' theatre space, with curtains, tiered seating, and a two-level set that opened up to reveal various locations.
"The excellent band and a cast who sang their hearts out and never stopped smiling had the audience clapping along during the show to such well-known songs as 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On', 'Leaning on a Lamppost' and, of course, 'The Lambeth Walk'.
The corridors echoed with the audience still humming the tunes as they left."

Daisy Clabburn, who played Sally, added: "The musical was the most amazing experience. From the costumes to the stage, from the impeccable band to the friendships developed; everyone played their part in undoubtedly producing the best performance that RHS has ever seen.
"It truly felt like a professional production and persuaded me to reconsider acting as a career. The light and colour of Steven Fry's adaptation made rehearsing so entertaining.
"I hope to see some of the other leads' successes as they peruse their acting careers as I am sure they will do remarkable things."
