Cuppa is a treasure

Happy Birthday Cuppa. They've just turned four.

Cuppa is a real find - a treasure. I didn't find it, a friend found it, so thank you to her.

Run by Sarah and Ian, it's a little world to get lost in if you have a couple of hours.

With primarily vegetarian and vegan food and drink, craft beers and great coffee, you can rest assured that any worries about eating anything made here and where it comes from is taken care of by Sarah and her team.

She always has a fabulous selection of cakes and sweet bites on the counter and out back they will knock you up soup, toasted sandwiches, baked potatoes… Her tea is hot, strong and delicious by the pot or cup.

Some dishes are seasonal - rhubarb and elderflower cake - and for the many community events she hosts at Cuppa, she might put on some themed food. They also have a busy vegan ice cream machine.

Sarah won a civic award for Cuppa, presented by the Mayor of Felixstowe to those who go above and beyond to support their community.

And it's not surprising. Cuppa hosts a book group, 'drink and draw', charity events, quizzes, open mic nights and she states on her Facebook Page 'if you need food at any time, just come in and ask…you could say that you have forgotten your purse…we won't judge'. They put on an alternative 'Coronation Event' with their own king - Elvis. She opens the coffee shop randomly to support events in Felixstowe too, car rallies or political film screenings.

The baked potatoes, toasted sandwiches, vegan rolls and pasties, rhubarb cake, tea, coffee, wine and beer are all delicious, but it's Sarah and Ian's hosting style, the atmosphere, the ambiance of the place that is undoubtedly the main event here.

Not far from the train station, and free parking at the co-op, on High Road West, it is a little vibrant haven, with its own community, which it's great to feel welcomed into.

Check out Cuppa, a coffee shop in Felixstowe, for the coffee, but also the spirit and vibe (you'll see what I mean when you get there and you'll know what I mean if you've been there). They're open Monday to Saturday 10-4pm and at other times for community events and to keep up with that you should follow Cuppa's Facebook page which is as warm and welcoming as the place itself.
