Stuart Boardley hailed goalscorer George Clarke and Josh Hitter as Felixstowe impressive home run continued, despite being second best for long periods of this Isthmian League (North) clash.

Seasiders' boss Boardley admitted Brentwood's direct, long ball and physical approach caused his side problems.

But the game is about goals and Boardley was delighted with the killer finishes either side of the half-time break.

Boardley told the club website:. "I felt they were probably played the better football if I'm honest, they were very direct as usual, winning a lot of second balls and putting us under pressure at times, but ultimately our quality in that box, that final finish, that final ball, won us the game because Brentwood certainly created some chances."

Clarke put Felixstowe in front on the 33rd minute when he got on the ned of a Henry Barley cross with a looping header that deceived the keeper.

"It was great to see George Clarke get his goal," said Boardley. "He's been excellent the last two games, leading the line incredibly well and he deserved his goal."

Substitute Hitter sent the manager a message when he won the free kick on the edge of the area, which he banged in low and hard under wall and keeper.

A delighted Boardley said: "Josh Hitter was disappointed he wasn't in the starting line-up but has shown the right attitude, came on and shown that quality with his free kick so that's great."

The win moves Felixstowe to fifth and in the fledgling playoff places, and also makes it it nine wins and one draw at the AGL so far this season.
