A former Felixstowe Hospital nurse was among a trio of given the VIP treatment at their care home on International Nurses Day it was only right that a fuss was made of them.
Retired nurses Daphne Shave, 86, Kathleen Caley, 80, and Margaret McGirr, 88, are all now residents at Spring Lodge care home, in Woolverstone, where staff prepared a special surprise, presenting them with flowers and chocolates ahead of a celebratory afternoon tea.
Plans to improve bus services under a new £3billion government scheme will not solve problems around the availability of rural bus services in Suffolk, according to the opposition Green Party's group.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Bus Back Better campaign aims to restructure the way bus services are run into "enhanced partnership" models where operators and the local transport authorities work together.

A Felixstowe man has been handed a suspended jail term after admitting downloading child porn.
Christopher Poulton, 62, of Cobbold Road, Felixstowe, admitted three offences of making indecent images of children and was given a four-month prison sentence suspended for two years, a two-year community order, a 35-day rehabilitation activity order and ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work.
Sam Forgan maintained Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club's winning start to the year as he booked his return to the Coca-Cola PGA Assistants' Championship final in the PGA East region qualifying event.
Forgan finished tied-third in last year's final and took the first step towards improving on that by sharing top spot with Aldenham Golf & Country Club's Andrew Cameron in the qualifier at Nazeing Golf Club.

The daughter of a former Felixstowe woman has made an emotional victim impact statement after her mum was killed by her neighbour.
Mandy Houghton, 58, who moved back to Lancashire after spell living in Felixstowe following the break up of her marriage, was killed by her neighbour, Alan Fare, 74, in an unprovoked attack with a hammer.

New style litter bin are being installed in Felixstowe to help encourage people to dispose of their rubbish correctly and reduce litter.
Last year, East Suffolk Council trialled a new style litter bin in Aldeburgh to encourage people to recycle their waste on the go. This trial is now being extended to two new locations in Felixstowe and Southwold.
