Nub News has been successful in its application to join in the Kickstart Scheme to give two community journalist hopefuls an avenue into the industry.

Using the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce gateway, Nub News went through a process with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to be accepted onto the government scheme. We will employ two community reporters aged between 16-24 for Felixstowe Nub News, along with its sister sites in Hadleigh and the Shotley peninsula. We are also looking to expand into other towns, including Woodbridge, in the near future.

East Suffolk Council's tourism chief has voiced high hopes for a staycation boom this summer to help Felixstowe firms recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Felixstowe based world class superstar soprano Christina Johnston and Roma Manteiga-Nicholson will lead this year's St Elizabeth Suffolk Remembers memorial event's musical performance.

Every year Suffolk Remembers, sees 5,000 candles displayed along Felixstowe seafront as hundreds of people gather to remember their loved ones. However, due to restrictions concerning the Covid-19 pandemic, last year the event was broadcast as an online video for those who had dedicated a candle to view.

Suffolk's well known Walking Festival returns in 2021 for its 14th instalment, but this year it returns with a twist. It will be the very first Virtual Suffolk Walking Festival.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the guided Suffolk Walking Festival cannot take place, instead the new virtual festival will include self-guided walks with fun facts about Suffolk, family activity sheets, podcasts and videos from around the county.
