Two men deny attacking Felixstowe dock worker in partner's bedroom
A Felixstowe dock worker has described how he was stabbed and hit with a claw hammer by two men who burst into his partner's home as he was attacked him in the bedroom.
Jamie Webber told Ipswich Crown Court he recognised one of the alleged attackers, Aaron Chelton, who he knew by his voice and eyes, which he could see through the ski mask.
The court heard Mr Webber was attacked at the house in Princes Street Felixstowe, on 9 January earlier this year and suffered a a number of injuries, including fractured eye socket and damaged teeth.
Chelton, 33, of Elizabeth Way, Felixstowe and Jamie Lepicq, 44, of Hall Field, Felixstowe, denied attempting to murder Mr Webber and wounding him with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
The court heard two men burst into the room, with one, allegedly Chelton, told the woman to get on the floor, while the other carried out the attack on Mr Webber.
The court heard that Lepicq had previously been in a relationship with the woman who was in bed with the victim on the night of the attack and he and Mr Webber had fallen out over her.
Prosecutor William Carter told the court Mr Webber knew Chelton from drinking at a local pub and had identified him as the intruder wearing the ski mask and had identified Lepicq as the person who had stabbed him and hit him with a claw hammer, knocking out some of his teeth.
Police arrested Lepicq and Chelton at Lepicq's home address in Hall Field and recently washed items including trainers, a ski mask, a pair of trainers and a black tracksuit top and bottoms were found in a washing machine.
Both defendants denied going to the house where the attack took place or being responsible for the attack.
The trial continues.
