Toothless in Suffolk, that have recently been campaigning in Felixstowe for better NHS dental treatment in the county, have welcomed the change in dentistry minister.

Boris Johnson's cabinet reshuffle has seen the former Junior Health Minister responsible for dentistry and Suffolk MP, Jo Churchill, being replaced by Maggie Throup.

Toothless in Suffolk campaign co-ordinator, Mark Jones, said: "With no explanation as to why there's been a sudden change in minister, we can only assume it might have something to do with her lack of impact in this area, and that the Toothless in Suffolk campaign is causing embarrassment both to her and the Department for Health and Social Care in equal measure."

Steve Marsling, campaign co-ordinator added: "Jo Churchill may have left the department, but people in towns like Felixstowe, Leiston and her own Bury St Edmunds are still suffering unbearable hardship."

Campaigner and Bury St Edmunds town councillor, Darren Turner said: "On 17th October, people from all over the East of England will gather in Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds, to protest the truly terrible state of dental services."
