In 910 The last major Viking army to raid England was defeated at the Battle of Tettenhall (now known as Wednesbury in Wolverhampton)by the allied forces of Mercia and Wessex, led by King Edward and Earl Aethelred. Tkis all came about after Guthrum, king of East Anglia had died and was no longer a peace maker between the Vikings and Anglo Saxons.
