This is the time of year for 'raining hay' as shown in the west country yesterday. The phenomenon is caused when freshly mown hay is picked up by warm thermals, similar to the that birds and glider pilots use, then when that warm air cools, the hay falls from high in the sky.

Keep an eye out on the peninsula but our hay tends to be neatly baled, as shown in our pictures.
