Felixstowe Lawn Tennis Club, one of the oldest clubs in the country, is launching a new year membership drive.

Head coach Matt Hough hopes the excellent facilities in Bath Road will attract new members, both children and adults. Matt says January is the perfect month to take up the game as a new year resolution after an indulgent Christmas break.

Matt said: "Happy New Year from all of us at the club. Why not take up tennis for 2024? It does not matter whether you are a keen tennis enthusiast looking for a new club , or a tad rusty having not picked up a racket for a while, or maybe you are a complete beginner but fancy a go. Pop down and see us during our club night which runs every Tuesday between 6pm and 8pm or alternatively drop our me an email and I will be sure to help answer any questions you have."

The club has nine floodlit courts in operation all year round and a further nine grass courts in the summer.  On offer are coaching, social play, team fixtures, social events and half-price membership for the first year for new members. Within the past year the club has resurfaced its  AstroTurf courts, replaced all the fencing surrounding the grass courts, grown the coaching team and coaching programme, held some fantastic social events and a celebrated a  title-winning campaign in the Ipswich & Suffolk Summer League.

Matt added: "We want to kick on in 2024 so there's no better time to come and be involved. You can be assured of a friendly welcome."
