Children in danger of trapping their fingers prompted 72 wooden swings being sieved by Suffolk Trading Standards officers in Felixstowe.

Suffolk Trading Standards' Import Surveillance Team detained the unsafe swings from the Port of Felixstowe after .tests on the product found the swing posed a risk of entrapment.

The rope adjustment system and the wooden seat both failed to meet the requirements of The Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 with failures including the risk a child could entrap their finger.

Other areas of concern that were identified include the swings edges, which could cause harm if it were to impact the user, as well as the instructions of the product not providing enough detail to assemble the swing safely.

If you have purchased a product that you think may be unsafe, stop using it immediately and report it to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133.
