Summer Fun at Landguard to mark 50th anniversary

Get set for a summer of fun events and activities at the Landguard Peninsula in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

The Landguard Nature Reserve was designated as a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in 1973 and will be celebrating its 50th year with a special Wildlife Discovery Day on Sunday 13 August.

Join the Ranger and discover more about Landguard's flora and fauna, with wildlife trails, giant games, crafts and touch table finds. This event is taking place next to the Manor Terrace car park.

Oh We Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside! Felixstowe Museum will be marking the 'Year of the Coast' in 2023 with a fun children's trail - A Day Out at the Seaside with Casey and Charlie Crab (from Thursday 6 July). Discover all the fun things the crabs are doing at the coast. Runs on Museum opening days throughout the summer. 

Roar! Discover Jurassic Fort at the magnificent Landguard Fort throughout the summer holidays (from Thursday 6 July). Hunt out our dinosaur visitors on this fun children's trail. Runs on Fort opening days throughout the summer. 

On Friday 25 August, the Fort are hosting Open-Air Theatre, with a performance of 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny'. Suitable for all ages, join Peter and his naughty cousin Benjamin on their hair-raising adventures in Quantum Theatre's delightful adaptation.

Stephen Rampley, Landguard Marketing and Events Co-ordinator said "This summer, we have amazing dinosaurs, crabs on holiday, naughty bunnies and amazing willow creatures. Something to keep all ages and interests amused at Suffolk's most southerly point".
