Stolen car found smashed up in Felixstowe

Police have launched an investigation to find out who stole a car, which was then found damaged an abandoned in Felixstowe.

The vehicle was taken from Pond Close, in the town between 5.10am and 6.07am on Sunday but late found by the owner after being tipped off on social media.

A police spokesman later confirmed: "The car, a Citroen Xsara Picasso, was found damaged and abandoned in Garrison Lane at around 6.15am."

Anyone with information related to the theft is urged to contact Suffolk police, quoting crime reference number 37/53866/22.

Rachel Coulson's put out an appeal when her Citroen Xsara Picasso was taken before being crashed and abandoned near Felixstowe School.  

She later discovered her son's football boots and an Ipswich Town cap had been stolen from the vehicle.
