Motorists have been warned by National Highways that the usual 60mph limit was reduced for safety, but the bridge over the Orwell remains open

National Highways has confirmed that a 40mph speed limit is being enforced in both directions of the A14.

The restrictions in both directions of he A14 are expected to remain in place until at least 9am.

The Orwell Bridge has previously shut to vehicles whenever wind speeds reach 50mph, but reduced speed limits are now typically introduced instead.
