Despite a Sam Nunn goal, Felixstowe's plucky Premier promotion push ended last night as they lost 3-1 at Canvey Island's Park Lane.

Stuart Boardley's side were stunned to go behind in just the second minute to a Mathew price header from a corner.

Nunn equalised with his second headed goal from an Andre Hasanally ball in as many games to give the Seasiders hope..

But the Islanders, who finished second in the Pitching In Isthmian League Northern Division, finished strongly in front of a 1,059 crowd and two Evans Kouasski in the last five minutes sent Felixstowe traipsing back up the A12.

Co-chairman Matt Hope sent this Tweet in commiseration.

Canvey will play host Brentwood in Fridays final after they beat Stowmarket Town 2-1.
