One of the juiciest rivalries in Suffolk non-league football is expected to kick off in front of a bumper crowd tomorrow.

Felixstowe & Walton United take on second placed Stowmarket Town at the Goldstar tomorrow (Saturday, March 5) with both sides in top form and Seasiders boss Stuart Boardley is relishing the match up.

Boardley assisted former Colchester United boss Richard Wilkins when he was the Leiston manager and is now number two at Stowmarket and has played with the likes of Jack Ainsley and Tom Bullard among others.

"Many of he payers and staff from both sides know each other and that will add to the spice," said Boardley. "Although it is a friendly rivalry it will be very competitive.

"They are going forth title and we want a play off finish so it will not be that much love lost in the 90 minutes, although many of us will sit and have beer together afterwards."

Boardley is getting spoilt for choice with more and more players coming back from suspension and injury, with and Leon Ottley-Gooch (who scored in the 3-0 midweek win at barking) and Billy Holland pushing to start, although it could a game too soon for Zak Brown to return from his ankle injury.

"I have had to make really hard decisions on who starts and who is on bench," said Boardey. "We have a very competitive squad which is making my job harder, in good way."

Both teams are seeking promotion from the Pitching In Isthmian Premier North Division and know each other all, which adds to the buzz.

Felixstowe have won five in six league games, while Stow are unbeaten in 10 matches.

Boardley's Seasiders have timed their run well as the business end of the season sees the Seasiders level on points with two other play-off rivals Brentwood and Dereham.

One of the problems Boardley's side will face is how to break down the Old Gold and Blacks' defence that did not concede goal in their four league games in February.

The Seasiders are hoping to top their highest gate of the season so far, which saw 621 people watch them against Hashtag United, although last Sunday's Ipswich Town Women's last 16 win over Southampton FC in the WFA Cup attracted a crowd of 1,167.

Supporters are invited to stay on after the match to take part in a fans' forum, with the manager, players, and backroom staff and officials all taking part and ready to ask questions.

Boardley added: We are really looking forward to it, hopefully there will be a big crowd and they get to see a decent match."

Meanwhile, the Seasiders will play Kirkley and Pakefield, at the Goldstar Ground, in the quarter finals of the Turners Hyundai Suffolk Premier Cup if they win at Bury Town on Tuesday.
