The management team at what will be a brand-new Marco Pierre White inspired restaurant and pub have started the exciting task of recruiting staff to work in each venue.

Located at what is currently The Brook Hotel, the plan is for the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill and pub, which will be called The Queen's Head, to start welcoming guests in the summer.

The arrival of the new restaurant and pub forms part of a £750,000 investment that is transforming what is currently a Best Western branded hotel into a boutique-style hotel called Hotel Coco

The management team now wants to find the best staff that that will make diners and drinkers' experience second-to-none while helping to boost local employment.

Those who put themselves forward and are chosen will then be put through a rigorous training programme that will see them brought up to speed on the exacting standards required by the gastronomic great.

Muralee Govindasamy, owner of the hotel said: "The arrival of a Marco Pierre White restaurant and pub in Felixstowe is great news for the area and we're delighted to announce that the search is on for additional staff members to join the team.

"We're expecting a lot of interest from those keen to gain experience of working in an environment created by Britain's greatest ever chef.

"The standard required will be very high and those who think they've got what it takes have to be totally dedicated, professional and will want to strive to be the best in all they do. There is a mix of roles that will create the personality of the restaurant and we are looking for enthusiastic, determined and dedicated staff with an excellent work ethic to complement the existing staff."

With around 20 jobs up for grabs, roles include a mix of front and back of house and includes sous chef, commis chef, bartenders, restaurant staff, reception, kitchen helpers and mixologists.

Recruitment Open Day

To help with the search, Muralee and his team will be holding a recruitment open day on Thursday 11 April 2024 at The Brook Hotel between 12 noon and 7pm. Those interested can pop along with their CV and chat to the team who can explain more about the plans and what roles are available.

Muralee added: "In the current climate, this is great news from an employment point of view and will go towards helping boost the local economy. The recruitment open day will be a great opportunity for local people who will be able to pop in to meet the team and see what roles they might be interested in.

"We're hugely excited and the refurbishment of the hotel and current restaurant and pub will completely capture Marco's ethos of creating a venue where friends and family can come to enjoy drinks and food in relaxed, comfortable and unpretentious setting."
