School's out for summer early after Felixstowe pupils and staff sent home to isolate

Nearly two dozen staff and pupils at two Felixstowe schools will not be back at school from now until September after being being sent home to isolate.

Three teachers at SET (Seckford Education Trust's) Causton Junior and Maidstone Infant schools, tested positive for Covid, one a class teacher, so they and 21 pupils were sent home.

With the end of term looming it means for them school's out for summer they will not be back until September, although there will be some home learning for pupils.

Mark Barrow, CEO of the SET, said: "Seckford Education Trust has confirmed that three members of staff are currently self-isolating having tested positive for Covid-19.

"One of the staff members who tested positive for Covid-19 is a class teacher and students in the affected class bubble are also self-isolating.

"Seckford Education Trust has confirmed that it has followed all Public Health England and Suffolk County Council guidance."
