The owners of a long standing clothes shop in Felixstowe have expressed their sorrow at having to close down.

Fashion retailer Yours, in the Hamilton Road shopping precinct, will shut its doors for the last time on November 27 and the owners have expressed sadness that the decline in customers, and long periods of closure during the pandemic, have forced them to join others in leaving the town.

A Yours Clothing spokesperson told Nub News: "We are truly sorry that we have to close our store in Felixstowe, it is a location we have been in for many years and we have not taken the decision lightly.

"Unfortunately in recent years the footfall in the town and our sales have continued to decline sharply, no doubt influenced by the closure of M&S and many other retailers in the town.

"During the last 19 months we have been forced to close for over eight months which has finally made the store totally unviable for the future. We are a business and unfortunately we cannot keep a store open to lose money."

Staff at the Felixstowe branch have been thanked for their service and while it is hoped some will be recoated it is likely redundancies will follow.

Customers have been told they can got to Ipswich to shop in person or go online to continue buying Yours fashion items, which specialises in plus-size styles from 14-40. sizes.

The spokesperson added: "The store team in Felixstowe have been a great asset to us, we are grateful for their dedication to our customers in the town

"We still have 120 stores across the UK, the nearest to Felixstowe being Ipswich and customers can continue to shop online www.yoursclothing.co.uk"

A number of clothing retailer have closed in Felixstowe over the past year, including Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Marks and Spencer.
