Royal Hospital School (RHS) in Holbrook, are delighted to announce their pupils have excelled at the Anna Airy Award Exhibition, taking home a number of accolades, including overall winner.

The annual Anna Airy Award Exhibition showcases the wealth of emerging artistic talent among young people in the local area between the ages of 16 and 23.

Tomi O, an RHS art scholar, was announced as the overall winner for her painting 'Jump', receiving a prize of £100 from the Ipswich Art Society. Tallulah I and Kate C also received 'Star Student' awards.

Harriet Barber, Head of Art at RHS, commented on pupils success saying: "With over 100 works on display from schools in the region, the standard this year was extremely high. Visiting the exhibition is always a treat, but this year I have been particularly impressed with the works on display. We are really proud of Tomi's achievement. As one of our art scholars, Tomi worked extremely hard on developing her art practice and it was wonderful to see her work alongside our other pupils' and so many strong artworks from other schools."

Tomi, who left RHS earlier this summer and is now currently studying at the University of Birmingham, responded to the news, saying: "I am so grateful for the opportunity to have my work entered into the exhibition, and obviously delighted that my painting was picked for first prize!"
