A grieving graffiti artist has been slammed as 'misguided' and selfish after vandalising a shelter and parcel lockers at Felixstowe Station.

Messages,, hearts and the name Darryl, were daubed in black and red paint at the platform area housing the Amazon storage facility and the shelter.

Paint as also spilled all over the floor and seats in the shelter and the act was criticised by rail passengers.

One Nub News reader contacted us to say: "While I'm very sorry for this person's obvious loss, this is not an acceptable way of expressing grief.

"Whoever did this acted in a very misguided and selfish way and really does not deserve our sympathy.

"It prevents people using the shelter, and will cost hundreds, if not thousands of pounds to clean up.

"That said, I hope they get help and perhaps seek a counsellor.""

British Transport Police are investigating the incident and have been sent pictures of the graffiti.

A BTP spokesman said: "We've received a report of this offence and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
