Police have released images of a man they want to speak with after an allegation of assault on a 12-year-old boy in Felixstowe.

The pictures were taken during the alleged incident on Saturday 4 July at around 4.55pm in front of Lidl and McDonald's on Haven Exchange, and was widely reported on social media at the time.

Police say a man started shouting at a group of children, who did not know the man, before he grabbed a 12-year-old boy's neck and pushed him to the ground.

The man then walked off in the direction of the Lidl store, while a member of the public checked the children were okay.

The man is described as a white, aged in his forties or fifties, of stocky build and was bald. He was wearing dark trousers and shoes, as well as black t-shirt. He was also wearing dark sunglasses and a watch.

Witnesses, or anyone who recognises the man shown in the images (scroll right on top image for more), are asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting reference 37/37467/20, via: Email - [email protected]Website or call 101.
