Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was injured when he was bitten a large dog last week.

The man was cycling back from the Co-op in High Street, Walton, and was attacked by the dog, believed to be a Doberman Pinscher, near Cordy's field in Trimley St Martin.

Police are seeking the owner of the dog, which was off its lead, after the animal ran up to the cyclist biting him on a calf and initially refusing to let go, and was bitten again higher up on his leg, leaving him with more than one puncture marks.

The unnamed victim was bitten last Thursday 23 July at about 8.10pm and despite speaking to the owner, was not given any details.

Police believe the dog involved is a Doberman breed with black and brown fur. It was wearing a black harness with a green, reflective outline and is believed the dog is called Rocky.

The dog owner is described as a white man, and officers are keen for the owner/s of the dog to contact police to discuss the incident.

Officers would also like anyone who witnessed the incident, has knowledge of it or knows the owners to contact Suffolk police, quoting reference 37/42441/20, via the police website or email: [email protected]
