A Port of Felixstowe dock worker suffered electrical burns this afternoon as a fire broke out in a motor room of a crane.

The person was treated for the injuries and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Firefighters used carbon dioxide and house reel jets to tackle the fire, after the initial call out at around 1pm.

The fire crew from Felixstowe Docks were supported by two other appliances from Felixstowe and three from the Ipswich area but the incident was dealt with by 2.30pm.
