More Covid-19 patients saved at Felixstowe and Ipswich Hospital group

Another 35 lived have been saved in our local hospitals as NHS staff battle the Covid-19 virus.

East Suffolk North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) confirmed 35 patients had been discharged from its hospitals in Felixstowe, Ipswich and Colchester over the past week.

That brings the number of people successfully treated by NHS staff in ESNEFT hospitals to 324 since March.

A Trust spokesman said: "These patients are home thanks to the care and dedication of all #TeamsESNEFT colleague."

ESNEFT also confirmed 20 people had passed away in the last week. All had underlying health conditions and had all tested positive for COVID-19.  

Trust chief executive Nick Hulme said: "Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients' families and loved ones at this difficult time.†
