Felixstowe youth coach and UKPN power worker Jeff Hay is nearly halfway through his aim of 1,000 keepy uppies a day during the whole of February to raise money for bowel cancer research.

Jeff has been wearing a different football team shirt each day during his task and so far he has raised nearly £700 for the Bobby Moore Fund for bowel cancer research.

"It's going well and I am really enjoying this challenge. I've had great support from my family, friends and work colleagues at UK Power Networks which is driving me on," said Jeff.

Having undergone four knee operations in five years he said his knees are in good shape and "feel strong" even though they are pounded every day!

Prepared to fulfil his task anywhere Jeff went to Felixstowe beach at the weekend and wore one of former Ipswich Town player Marcus Bent's shirts from the 2001 season.

Jeff is keeping on with his daily keepy uppies and will finish his task on February 29.
