Felixstowe's Coastguard and Coast Patrol combined to help rescue a yachtsman that suffered a head injury on the river Orwell.

Rescue services raced to Levington after reporters were received that a sailor had been injured near Suffolk Yacht Harbour in Levington on Monday morning

Felixstowe Coast Patrol and the Coastguard helped the man from the yacht and left him in the care of the East of England Ambulance Service.

There was no rest for the Coastguard as they made their way back too base after receiving reports of an incident involving two windsurfers.

RNLI Harwich was also called to attend, although the two windsurfers had made it back to shore and did not require medical assistance.

A spokesman said: "Once it was clear no medical assistance was required the team gave safety advice and headed back to station."
