Hospitals discharge more patients after successful Covid-19 treatment

NHS staff have saved the lives of 48 patients, including two young brothers, who had developed Covid-19 symptoms.

East Suffolk North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, which operate Felixstowe, Ipswich and Colchester hospitals, discharged all the coronavirus victims after successful treatment.

A spokesman said: "These patients are home thanks to the care and dedication of all ESNEFT colleagues."

The two young brothers aged 14 and 11, were both initially taken Ipswich hospital after developing Covid-19 symptoms and later transferred to specialist units whey they won their battle with the virus.

ESNEFT NHS staff have now saved the lives of more than 350 coronavirus victims since March.

Sadly, the Trust has also confirmed 15 people with underlying health conditions died after being tested positive for Covid-19.

Nick Hulme, Chief Executive for East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients' families and loved ones at this difficult time."

Meanwhile, 531 people in the East Suffolk District have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, according to figures released by the Suffolk Resilience Forum.
