Felixstowe fire crews have quickly extinguished a blazing forklift at the docks.

Firefighters from the Port of Felixstowe and the town's station dealt with the incident just before 5.20pm last night in Sub Station Road.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "The forklift was well alight upon arrival."

The forklift operator is understood to have escaped unhurt.

Fire crews ensured the fire did not spread and used foam and water to put it out and left the scene shortly after 6pm.
