A Felixstowe man has been found guilty of attacking a dockworker, who used to be his friend.

Jamie Lepicq of Hall Field, Felixstowe, had denied attacking the man at his partner's home in Princes Road on January 9.

The victim and Lepicq had previously been friends and had regularly played pool and socialised at the Owl and Pussycat pub in Felixstowe before allegedly falling out over the woman.

During the trial, the court heard the victim was attacked at his partner's address at 2.45am by two men - two miles away from Lepicq's address.

One of the men was wearing a ski mask and told the victim's partner to get on the floor, while the other intruder pulled out a knife and a claw hammer, which he used to attack the victim, prosecutor William Carter, said previously.

Talking to the police, Lepicq said that he spent the night at home with his partner.

The prosecutor previously told the court that Lepicq had been in a relationship with the woman who was in bed with the victim on the night of the attack.

At Ipswich Crown Court, Lepicq was found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm by a jury.

He was remanded in custody ahead of a sentencing hearing that will be held on September 15.
