Felixstowe's Civic Awards 2021: nominations wanted to recognise community heroes

After being postponed due to COVID restrictions back in May, the Civic Awards will be presented as part of the FelixFest weekend on Saturday 9 October.

The awards are to recognise contributions made to the community by individuals, young people and organisations in Felixstowe.

Since starting in 2002, the Civic Awards have honoured more than 100 local people and organisations.

There will be three awards handed out at the event, including:

The Mayor's Awards - Presented to up to five local people for their contribution to the community.

HMS Ganges Youth Trophy - Presented to a local young person (aged 21 or younger) or organisation supporting young people in Felixstowe.

The Community Award - Presented to recognise the contribution to the community by a local organisation.

Previous Civic Award winners include the Felixstowe Community Award 2019 winner Felixstowe Community Hospital League of Friends and Visit Felixstowe Tourism Award 2018 winner Festival of Fabric.

Nominations for the awards are open until Monday 20 September and are to be emailed to Sue Faversham, Civic Events Officer at [email protected] or returned to Felixstowe Town Council, Town Hall, Felixstowe IP11 2AG.
